I Don’t Deserve It

I was told that people shouldn’t give to people who don’t deserve it. I responded and said that if that is the case then you don’t deserve to be standing here with me talking, because if someone shouldn’t give to someone who doesn’t deserve it then Christ shouldn’t have died for you, you shouldn’t have life more abundantly, you shouldn’t have the need of joy because you don’t deserve it, you shouldn’t have peace, you shouldn’t have mercy new to you every morning. In fact you shouldn’t have the opportunity to even submit your will to God so at this moment Satan can flee from you, you shouldn’t have the chance to confess that sin or any other. Why? Because you don’t deserve it. In fact you should just die and go to hell because you don’t deserve it. But God is not like you or me who loves with limits…he has grace and mercy, forgives us even when we don’t deserve it. Well, I guess we all still have a need of God today and I thank him so much….because I really see that I don’t deserve it.

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
